Floor Cloth or canvas "rugs" were painted to imitate carpeting. Floor Cloths were quite popular in the 18th and 19th centuries as colorful and inexpensive alternatives.
Today floorcloths have once again gained full popularity and bring contemporary art to the décor of any room. Floorcloths have become a fashionable alternative to area rugs
Floor Cloths protect hardwood floors, they provide a lovely decorative accent to any room.
Floor Cloths provide a smooth, easily cleaned surface which makes them ideal for placement in an entry way, under the dining room table, in front of the kitchen sink or stove, anywhere that could benefit from a unique accent rug.

Floorcloths are original paintings created on a heavy canvas that is first shrunk.Each canvas is individually painted with two coats of primer, 3 to 4 coats of acrylic paints for depth of colour and sealed with seven coats of water base varnish on top and 3 coats on the bottom, finished with two coats of non yellowing wax.
Each painting is an original piece of art signed and dated.
Floor Cloths are intended to be used on hard wood floors, concrete and some tiles. We strongly recommend not to use a Floor Cloth on carpet, the finish of the Floor Cloth will crack under the weight of furniture and walking. If furniture is to be placed on the Floor Cloth, felt pads should added to the feet.
Floor Cloths are again a popular alternative to other types of area rugs.
Well-made Floor Cloths are a labor-intensive craft and will last a lifetime with the right care.
